About this blog:
This is my personal journey.
For many years, I lived in survival mode. I was just trying to make it through. I didn’t appreciate the journey.
Years ago, I was blessed with a change in circumstances and have been trying to look at life from a new perspective.
Then came huge life change.
Then came huge life change.
I am still a work in progress. There are still days that I am muddling my way through. I am constantly asking for grace.
What I have discovered so far is that perfection does not exist. There is no right answer. There is only life. Life is messy. I will always be a work in progress and that is ok.
My hope is through writing is to create more purpose (and fun) out of my life. And while every day isn’t always a monumental event, in fact most days are full of the day to day doings of life (work, laundry, kids); I want to appreciate those moments as well.
The title of this blog is adapted from the Van Morrison song, “These are the days.” The following lyric in particular:
“These are the days now that we must savor
And we must enjoy as we can
These are the days that will last forever
You've got to hold them in your heart.”
And we must enjoy as we can
These are the days that will last forever
You've got to hold them in your heart.”
This is a gentle reminder to be more present and enjoy life.
Some other bits about me:
I am married and have two wonderful girls. Those two facts add lots of lovely mess to life.
I love spending time sitting in the sunshine in my backyard with a cold beer.
